What’s In My Makeup Bag ?

8 Essentials to Keep in Your Travel Makeup Bag

Sunscreen

While this technically isn’t a makeup product, it’s crucial to carry good sunscreen with you.

Honestly I had no idea how important sunscreen is – but it’s vital if you want to age gracefully, and if you want to always have radiant healthy looking skin. Here are some key notes as to the benefits of wearing sunscreen!

It Protects Your Skin from UV Rays: The depletion of the ozone layer has increased our risk of sun damage from harmful UV rays. Sunscreen blocks these rays, greatly reducing the likelihood of sunburn. By applying sunscreen each day, you cut your risk of contracting skin cancers in half.

I recommend using a Non-Greasy sunscreen lotion because, it’ll keep your skin looking fresh through the day. Even if you don’t have oily skin, sunscreen lotion tends to be naturally thick. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Water Resistant and Non-Greasy Sunscreen Lotion with Broad Spectrum SPF 100 is a good and affordable one to keep in your bag, and wear before applying your make up. Or simple on a day to day basis with your normal skin care routine. You’ll thank me later sis!

Moisturizer

Everyone should always moisturize – is like water for your skin. I’m sure we all know what happens when we’re not drinking enough water right? We become de-hydrated, same thing happens when you’re not moisturizing!!!

Which ever moisturizer you choose to go with should be one that caters to your type of skin. I personally recommend the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion – Is water based and I absolutely love it. It’s a bit pricey but it’s an investment that will reap great results. If you absolutely can not afford It, then I recommend the rose water lotion from Garnier

Concealer

Is a good item to keep in your bag specially if you have dark circles underneath your eyes. I recommend the Tarte tape shape concealer, it’s absolutely awesome for hiding blemishes, specially under the eye. If you can’t afford this one, I recommend getting the Elf Camo 16hr canceler, I love this one too!

Powder

I recommend using a translucent powder it’s honestly way better than using pressed foundation powder, Why? Because translucent prouder is usually loos, it sets better with your foundation than pressed powder. This gives you a more fresh natural look rather than a cackey cluttered look – The cake face look is a nono, unless you’re eating actual cake :). We’re all about the make up- no make up look here! – I recommend the Ben Nye translucent Loose powder in which ever skin tone you may be, fair tone, medium and deep.

Bronzer

HOOLA!! from Benefits cosmetics is awesome – If you can’t afford this one, any affordable bronzer would do!

Blush

For an everyday look, I like to wear either bronzer or blush but never both because, in my opinion using one or the other gives you more of a casual look which is what I always aim for on a Monday to Friday basis. Friday night to Sunday! giirrrl that’s a whole different story! I’m wearing bronzer, blush, and highlighter ^_^ – I don’t have any specific recommendation for blushes, but I’m currently using a blush pallet from makeup revolution, and it works for me.

Brows

Benefits cosmetics eyebrow pencil works wonders for me because it’s easy to use and it’s not too saturated, Freda’s eyebrows only looked good on Freda ya dig? If this is not obtainable you can always use the Elf brow pencil which works ok.

A Simple Eyeshadow Palette

I absolutely love love love! neutral colors, they never go out of style, and can be worn through all the seasons. The earthy tone colors are super sexy and appealing for any time, and any skin color. In this case my go to is the Tarte Tartelette in Bloom Clay Eye Shadow Palette! giirrlll it’s fire! But of course if you can’t get this one, any dupe or similar neutral pallet will work!

Well Beauties!! this is all she wrote – literally. Until next time keep it beautiful, not beastly! – Cesi
